Network Marketing Opportunities are Everywhere

p_031_50Network marketing opportunities are everywhere on the Internet.  It’s easy to get sidelined with new products, new compensation plans, new promises of riches in record time.  Wow – looks like you should dump the plan you’re with and go with one of these!  You’ve been getting no where fast and this new MLM must be your ticket to success.

The Biggest Mistake You Could Make

If you actually follow through and jump on this new plan, you may have just made the biggest mistake you could ever make.  You see, new programs are built on the hype and promises that are made to reel you in.  They need people fast and what better way to get you than with psychological tricks that are the mainstay of old-time marketing?

The main promise these network marketing companies make is that you will get rich just by promoting their program.  If it were that easy, don’t you think everyone would be rich?  After all, this seems to be the main promise they make – do you see anywhere on their site what you have to do to be successful with their program?

Look at it this way….a network marketing business is built on relationships.  If you’ve been marketing one program and suddenly switch to another program, what message is this sending to your followers?  To be successful, you have to be consistent.  Program jumping is not the way to build your business and it’s not the way you can succeed in network marketing.

Marketing on the Internet the Right Way

There will always be new network marketing opportunities.  The right way to market on the Internet is to:

  • Select an MLM
  • Find a marketing system you can duplicate
  • Train your downline
  • Stay on your program and purchase the product(s)

Don’t choose the latest fad, designed to take advantage of some new site or loophole in Terms of Service.  Successful Internet based marketing is done using established procedures, proven to work when the last big fad has stopped working.  These are the methods you should be using for long-term success.

Your Personal Branding Statement

jewlery_tattoo_20This is certainly one way to brand yourself, but I’m pretty sure that’s not what you had in mind!

When doing business on the Internet, it’s important to brand yourself as an expert in a particular area.  People are looking for information and they come to trust people who present their credentials and pass along useful information.  This trust is built in the way you provide the information and your consistency in promoting yourself.

Your Credentials

I’m not necessarily talking about your education, I’m referring to your success in:

  • A Hobby
  • Heading up Committees
  • Forming Groups
  • Leading People
  • Building a Business
  • Your Writing Skills
  • Your Organizational Skills
  • Your Ability to Solve Problems
  • Public Speaking
  • etc.

Find what you’re good at and use that to build your personal branding.  How can you use that skill to help people in network marketing and to build your business?

Useful Information

People want to find ways on how to make extra cash to supplement their income.  Network Marketing is a low risk way for them to do that as long as they understand it’s not a sure-fire fast way to make extra money.  They need to know how network marketing opportunities work, how long it takes to start earning and what they need to do for network marketing success.

How can you help these people solve these issues?

Take the personal branding skill you have identified and write articles, blog posts, create videos, participate in forums and place classified ads to attract the people you want to recruit into your business.

Personal Branding Statement

Your personal branding should be consistent – you want to build a following with your name and your personal branding statement.  Imagine one of your business partners (your recruits) talking about how they got into their business and they mention your personal branding.  That’s what you want to occur due to your personal branding.

Here’s a few examples:

  • John Doe – Organizing Skills for Success
  • John Doe – Leading People to Network Marketing Success
  • Jane Doe – Crocheting to Business Success
  • Jane Doe – Small Building is My Passion

Don’t Hold Back!

One thing I learned entering the business world many years ago was that women at that time were not sure how to play the “business game.”  The major difference I saw in the successful business promotions were people who pushed for recognition got the promotions.

And who were getting those promotions?

Men!  Men enter the business world knowing how to play the game of business.  They’re not shy about claiming victories and announcing them to everyone.

Women, on the other hand, tend to wait to be recognized.  “It’s not lady-like to boast about your achievements.”  In reality, that’s the only way you get ahead.

So…don’t be shy about your successes – in fact, write about them and tell others how that success was achieved:

  • How did you plan to achieve the success?
  • How long did it take?
  • What obstacles did you encounter?
  • How did you approach the obstacles?
  • What did you learn from the obstacles?
  • How did you feel once you were successful?
  • Is there anything you would do different in the future?

Success in Network Marketing is up to YOU!

thedonaldbanner

I have been working on the Internet 4 years now and it really is no different than talking to people offline and listen to them talk about getting into a business and quitting their job.  Unfortunately, most are just talkers and you’ll find them trying to build an Internet business and Network Marketing businesses.  In reality, most are just waiting for success and money to be delivered to them on a silver tray – like they don’t really have to work for it!

What’s an Entrepreneur?

Do you know there are 33 daily searches on “how to become an entrepreneur?”

I have built several offline and online businesses and I have done in-house consulting for large and small corporations. I think this qualifies me to say I am an entrepreneur – I love to build. And if you’re also an entrepreneur, I know you understand when I say we love to build…we have a vision; we eat, sleep and breath to see that vision turn into the reality we KNOW it will be.

I’m willing to put my personal life on hold if needed; that means I can live without short-term satisfaction until my long-term goal is achieved. Can you honestly say that you can and will do the same? Because frankly, if you cannot – then you are not an entrepreneur; you are not a business builder and you better keep your j-o-b.

Some will say, “Whoa Gail – those are harsh words!”

BUT IT’S ABSOLUTELY TRUE – so what’s the fuss?

Expect to Work Hard

If you’re looking at quitting your job or building a business through “rose colored glasses” you need to WAKE UP and see the truth.

It doesn’t matter if you’re building an offline business, an online business or a network marketing business, it’s not easy.  Suck it up – hear it – believe it – and most certainly, FEEL it.

For all of you who still believe the hype and expect an eBook, a system or a program to do all the work for you…deliver success and money TO you…you deserve what you get. Have the guts to expect it to be hard (because it usually is!) and you won’t be disappointed when it actually is. And who knows, you might get lucky and be pleasantly surprised when it turns out a little easier than you thought it would be!

It may be that you have to work hard for 90 days and then it gets easier; but in reality, it may take 2 years before it gets easier!

Internet Business or Network Marketing Business?

There are some people who think it’s a better choice to build an Internet business than a Network Marketing business. I can certainly understand their reasons – after all, I have an Internet business. But I also do Network Marketing and I’m sure you wonder why!

It’s really very simple – I very carefully chose the right opportunity for me to build long-term, recurring income.   That’s the first requirement when selecting a business opportunity.  You need to make sure you can do whatever is required to make it work.

If you’re a first-time business builder, network marketing may be easier for you to work and succeed in, especially if you have a j-o-b.  The reason I say this is because all you have to do is follow the plan.  They usually tell you how to work the business which is important if you have never managed your own time or other people.  Look at MLM as a training program and if you are successful, you can transfer your new skills to any business venture.

Be aware that Network Marketing has evolved in recent years and the old way of working the business offline is much slower and time-consuming than marketing online.  Since you don’t have a retail outlet and you don’t have employees, it’s all about marketing.  If you don’t have these skills, add it to your “to do” list because you’ll need it.

If you are an experienced business builder, maybe you want to concentrate on Internet Marketing alone and not even consider Network Marketing.  From my experience, you can do both.  If you don’t have a computer or a software background, you’ll need extra cash for all the “how to” information you’ll need.

If you’re going to market on the Internet, you’ll want to start making money now until your MLM kicks in.  Building your downline takes time and the money follows – it’s not instant.  And to do that, you still need access to products and marketing skills.

Most People CAN Afford to Quit!

Getting started in an Internet or Network Marketing business both have low startup costs as opposed to a franchise or a brick and mortar business which require an enormous investment.  Most people find they can easily forfeit their investment because they can afford to.  Do you think people who invest a large amount in their business can afford to do the same?

When you invest real money in a business, you have to do a business plan, a marketing plan and try and figure out a return on your investment (ROI).  Many people fail to do that when their initial investment is less than $100.  And that’s exactly why they fail!

Are You a Winner – Can You Achieve Success?

So what does The Donald have to do with all this?  He’s a man of action – someone who gets things done; he doesn’t wait for someone else to do it and he isn’t afraid of hard work.  And that’s what you should remember when you decide to start a business or get into a Network Marketing opportunity.

  • Don’t even start if you’re not in it for the long haul
  • Invest in tools to make your job easier
  • Educate yourself for the business you select
  • Find successful people to follow
  • Never give up!
