If you’re new to the Internet, I’ll bet you haven’t yet heard about “giveaway events.”  Throughout the year, Internet Marketers put together special events to build their subscriber lists.  They’re most likely adding to their already existing list, but everyone who joins the event as a contributor can start building a new list or add to theirs.

Here’s how it works….

The event organizer uses special software to build the framework for the event.  This defines people who join as affiliates and others who join as contributors.  The software controls everything to do with the event, including special offers and depositing money to contributor’s PayPal account for an upgraded account.  This allows the contributor to have a special offer page and set a price for the product offered in addition to their free gift.

Contributors and affiliates are people who have their own products, private label products and master resell products to contribute.  He/she signs up as a contributor, builds a squeeze page to have people optin to their gift, builds a thank you and download page and submits a link to the optin page to the event.  The contributor’s gift is added to the event’s offer page.

The giveaway event receives traffic to the event sent by the contributors.  Usually, the more traffic you send that results in signups and sales, the more often your special offer and/or gift is shown.  So – the contributors working the hardest to send traffic benefit the most.

Everyone who joins the giveaway event has access to the free gifts.  Each person who wants to download a gift must first optin to that person’s list by giving their eMail address.  In exchange for your eMail address, you receive a free ebook or free computer software.  The contributor of the gift now has the ability to continue to market their products to you.

Many people are wary of giving their eMail address to receive something free.  As long as you are using a quality giveaway event, it’s safe to use.   If you are not interested in receiving further marketing from the person, you only have to unsubscribe in their next eMail.

This is YOUR chance to download a lot of products.  Many giveaway events contain a lot of old, recycled products that are to be avoided.  The only events to spend your time on are those referred to you by people you trust.

This year’s New Year Giveaway has been greatly improved over last year’s event.  They are using upgraded software that tracks the active contributors and the products they offer as contributor gifts are really unique – I haven’t seen most of them before.
